Sika Sikaflex 1A One Part Polyurethane Elastomeric Sealant Adhesive - 20.3 Fluid Ounce Sausage

Sika Sikaflex 1A 91014 is a premium-grade, high-performance, moisture-cured, one component, polyurethane-based, non-sag elastomeric sealant. Sikaflex 1A is designed for all types of joints where maximum depth of the sealant will not exceed 1/2 inches. Sika 1A is excellent for small joints and fillets, windows, door frames, reglets, flashing, common roofing detail applications and many construction adhesive applications. This polyurethane-based product is also suitable for vertical and horizontal joints and readily placeable at 40°F. Sikaflex 1A has as many applications as an elastic adhesive between materials with dissimilar coefficients of expansion. This product can be used in submerged conditions such as canal and reservoir joints. Some of the advantages of using Sikaflex 1A is to minimize time, effort and equipment for mixing, filling cartridges, pre-heating or thawing and the cleaning of equipment. Sikaflex 1A has fast tack-free and final cure times. Sikaflex 1A is high in elasticity, cures to a tough, durable and flexible consistency with exceptional cut and tear-resistance. Sikaflex 1A provides excellent adhesion and bonds to most construction materials without having to use a primer. Sikaflex 1A offers excellent resistance to aging and weathering and is proven in tough climates around the globe. Unlike its peers, Sikaflex 1A is odorless and non-staining. Sikaflex 1A is jet fuel resistant, certified to the NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for potable water, is urethane-based, suggested by EPA for radon reduction, is paintable with water, oil and rubber-based paints and, lastly, it has the capacity of a ±35% joint movement.

Limitations

• Allow 1 week cure at standard conditions when using Sikaflex 1a in total water immersion situations.
• When overcoating with water, oil and rubber based paints, compatibility and adhesion testing is essential.
• Sealant should be allowed to cure for 7 days prior to overcoating.
• Avoid exposure to high levels of chlorine. (Maximum continuous level is 5 ppm of chlorine.)
• Maximum depth of sealant must not exceed 1/2" minimum depth is 1/4"
• Maximum expansion and contraction should not exceed 35% of average joint width.
• Do not cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants.
• Avoid contact with alcohol and other solvent cleaners during cure.
• Do not apply when moisture-vapor-transmission condition exists from the substrate as this can cause bubbling within the sealant
