Dow 888 Silicone Joint Sealant - 50 Gallon Drum

Dowsil 888 gray silicone sealant (formerly Dow Corning 888 silicone sealant) is a one-part, cold=applied, non-sag silicone joint sealant for cement, concrete pavement joints. Dow 888 cures to a low-modulus silicone rubber upon exposure to atmospheric moisture and can be applied over a wide temperature range. Dow 888 can be used for concrete to concrete pavement joints. Dow 888 can be used in new construction, repair or remedial applications. Dow 888 silicone joint sealant may be used to seal joints that are not uniform in width provided the movement capability of the sealant is not exceeded. Dow 888 silicone joint sealant may also be used in joints with minor spalling. Dow 888 silicone sealant is low-modulus and weather and UV resistant. Primer is not required for bonding to Portland cement concrete. For optimum Dow 888 adhesion, the surface must be clean, dry and frost-free.

Applications and Recommended Uses

Limitations

• DOWSIL 888 Silicone Joint Sealant is not recommended for continuous water immersion and should not be applied in totally confined spaces where the sealant is not exposed to atmospheric moisture.
• DOWSIL 888 is not intended for use with asphalt.
• DOWSIL 888 sealant should never be applied to wet or damp asphalt or concrete pavements or installed during inclement weather.
• DOWSIL does not promote or warrant the use of Dow sealants in applications associated with spill containment areas of any kind.
• DOWSIL 888 is neither tested nor represented as suitable for medical or pharmaceutical uses.
